During These Midterm Elections, Vote God!

Removing God From Society Has Not Worked Out Well

The day was like any other for Elizabeth Gomes. She was on her way to work at Kennedy Airport when a large, black man made advances toward her. She tried to ignore him and picked up her pace, but that did not deter Waheed Foster, a lifelong criminal. He hit her from behind with a bottle, dragged her across the corridor, and slammed her head into a wall. Then, using his fists and his feet, he senselessly battered her until her body lay in a crumpled heap. All during the beating, Elizabeth reported that he was muttering about Satan. Ms. Gomes is understandably still very frightened and may lose the ability to see out of her right eye. You may attribute this to our criminal justice system in the 21st century which seems to favor criminals over victims, and that would be partially correct. However, if you’re like me, you’ve noticed the rapid acceleration of evil like this which seems to permeate every aspect of our lives now, and you have to ask yourself, How did we get here? Frankly, a quick assessment will reveal that this is what happens when God is removed from society. (If you haven’t seen this video, you really must to understand the savagery of criminals today.)

Separation of Church & State

On December 15, 1791, the Bill of Rights–the first 10 amendments to the Constitution–was adopted, a little over four years after the Constitution became the supreme law of the land. In the Bill of Rights, the initial section of the first amendment states: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…” Subsequently, in 1802, Thomas Jefferson wrote this to the Danbury Baptist Association:

“Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God; that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship; that the legislative powers of the government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,' thus building a wall of separation between church and State.”

Jefferson’s words have clearly been taken out of context, as he simply meant that, according to the first amendment, the federal government should not be in the business of “proclaiming days of prayer, fasting, and thanksgiving.” He felt this, in accordance with the 10th amendment, should be left to the states. In fact, historian James H. Hutson tells us that Jefferson believed that the state “as long as it remained within its well-appointed limits, ‘could provide friendly aid to religious denominations.’”

Additionally, Thomas Jefferson went to church services on government property, allowed new churches to hold services in the Treasury and War Office buildings, and as President, signed a law that gave churches tax exempt status in the District of Columbia. Moreover, the third president of the United States allowed the use of federal funds supporting a Catholic missionary working with the Kashakia Indians in Illinois, and approved a law that granted federal land to a United Brethren society, enabling them to evangelize American Indians in the West. Does this sound like a man who believed that God should have no place in society? The answer to that is an unqualified No!

A Word About Justice Hugo Black

Instead, the removal of God from our American culture began on February 10, 1947. Enter Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black. He used Jefferson’s words in a watershed Supreme Court decision writing, “In the words of Jefferson, the First Amendment clause prohibiting the establishment of religion by law was intended to erect a wall between church and state. That wall must be kept high and impregnable. We could not approve the slightest breach…” In other words, from that court case (Everson v. Board of Education) forward the so-called “wall of separation” would apply to all forms of government—federal, state, and local.

Since Justice Hugo Black played such a pivotal role in turning our once God-fearing society into a secular one, we should examine the Justice himself. Hugo LaFayette Black was an Alabaman, a Democrat, a senator, a Mason, and a member of the Ku Klux Klan. Additionally, in keeping with Klan beliefs, Black had a visceral hatred of Catholics. So, one might wonder how this bigot found himself on the bench of the highest court in the land. It turns out President Franklin D. Roosevelt nominated him to the Supreme Court without consulting his advisors because Hugo Black was a big supporter of FDR’s programs. Later, Roosevelt was chagrined to learn of Black’s association with the nefarious organization, for he (FDR) had been openly opposed to the KKK since the early 1920s. What was an uncomfortable embarrassment for FDR, unfortunately paved the way for a God-less America, an America that has allowed evil to wrap its slimy tentacles around every institution and many individuals in our culture. Let’s check out three signs that our country has turned its back on God.

Abortion: The Left’s High Sacrament

The fight to overturn Roe v. Wade, which illegitimately decided that abortion was a Constitutional right, has been hard-fought and long. With the landmark Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the court ruled that the Constitution does not confer such a right. The howls from liberal women’s groups, Planned Parenthood, leftist media and politicians were predictable.

The fact remains that women in the United States can still get abortions, but each state will decide how they will deal with any limits on the outpatient procedure. That’s what has these people in such a rage. You see, they don’t want any limits on abortion. Many leftists believe that a woman should be able to kill her baby up until the moment of birth. That, plainly speaking, is infanticide or murder. But, not to these people. Just last month, Whoopi Goldberg said on The View that an unborn child of a mother seeking an abortion is a “toxic thing.” Imagine that. A life that God has created with its own unique DNA and fingerprints is a “toxic thing.”

And, unbelievably Joe Scarborough made some repugnant claims about the topic saying, “Jesus never once talked about abortion.” Yes, and he never talked about speeding on freeways, cocaine abuse, or public urination either. What’s Joe’s point? Following Jesus means having a personal relationship with Him where you ask for His guidance daily and seek to serve others sacrificially. One way the Lord guides us is through the Bible, and scripture is quite clear on the sanctity of life. In the Book of Job we read, “The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” Then, in Jeremiah we learn that God said, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Finally, in Psalms David wrote, “For you created my innermost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb…Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” Clearly, God is the author of life. Woe to the person who cuts another’s life short before they are able to fulfill their destiny on earth.

Another individual making absurd claims about abortion is Georgia gubernatorial candidate, Stacey Abrams, who recently claimed, “There is no such thing as a [fetal] heartbeat at six weeks. It is a manufactured sound designed to convince people men have a right to take control of a woman’s body.” Many doctors and sonogram technicians have since disputed her claims. Moreover, even left-wing outlets like CBS, the Guardian, and the Today Show published/aired a story a few weeks ago about a British scientific study showing babies in the womb and how they react to a variety of tastes and smells before they are born.

Wow! God’s handiwork is clearly visible in the ultrasound. Indisputably, life begins when a sperm penetrates an egg. Those of you old enough will remember when British scientists “created” the first test tube baby, Louise Brown. The year was 1978 and the headline in nearly every newspaper read Scientists Create Life in a Test Tube! Right. When scientists enable a sperm to penetrate an egg, it is called life. When God does so, it’s just a mass of cells and tissue easily disposed of when the need should arise.

This, my friends, is pure evil. The shedding of innocent blood is abhorrent and sinful, but especially so when the victim cannot fight back. Since Roe v. Wade became the law of the land, nearly 63 million babies have been killed. When life is not valued in a culture, it leads to a death spiral of lawlessness. This is what happens when God is removed from society.

Sexual Lunacy: Sacrament Number Two

It was a cool November morning in 2014, and I was preparing for my first class of the day. Since attendance was taken on the computer, I was sitting at my desk noting the students who were present, ready to mark those who were tardy or no-shows. Nonchalantly, a student, whom I knew as Caleb (not his real name), arrived dressed in a long, blonde wig, full makeup with fake eyelashes, a midi-top, a mini-skirt, and stripper heels. I actually did a double take…for several reasons. First, Caleb is 6 feet 4 inches tall, so you can imagine how he looked in his new attire. Secondarily, the high school where I taught had a dress code, and none of the clothing Caleb presented with that morning was suitable for school. And finally, his “look à la mode” was definitely going to be a distraction for students while they were trying to learn.

I hastily tapped out an email message to one of the vice-principals describing Caleb’s getup and asked for direction. I did not receive a response until the end of the day at which point the administrator said, “We’re walking a very fine line with Caleb.” That was it. No regard for the rules or the disturbance in the classroom. Any female caught in an outfit like that would have had to change clothing, switch into PE gear, or call home to have a parent bring a different set of togs. I drove home that night and made a decision to retire at the end of the school year. I had taught 34 years yet was planning to return for one more year of service. To be sure, there were political issues with which I disagreed vehemently and they contributed to my decision, but this incident pushed me toward the retirement door posthaste.

1) Transgender Indoctrination

Looking back, that incident seems quite tame in comparison to the gender lunacy and downright evil being perpetrated on our youth in public schools and on the airwaves today. Consider the left’s push for “a drag queen in every school” which is what Michigan’s attorney general, Dana Nessel, has called for stating, “I say this: A drag queen for every school! That–that is what would be fun for kids.” At a time when our students are failing to meet reading and math competencies in nearly every state, teachers’ unions, the media, Hollywood, and Democrat politicians are doling out huge sums of money to introduce drag queens to children from pre-K through high school. For instance, from January through June of 2022 New York City has spent $200,000 in taxpayer funds on drag queen shows for schools and public libraries. What is the purpose of this? I’m sure you’ve asked yourself that question. The only possible answer is that the left has three goals: 1) to introduce transgenderism to students, 2) to indoctrinate students into becoming transgender, and 3) to sexualize students. Let me state unequivocally that any parent who brings their children to these shows should have their children removed from their homes for emotional abuse.

2) Grooming Students Through Porn

Speaking of sexualizing students, have you recently taken a look at some of the books in your children’s school libraries?  Books and topics that should never be shared with students are now on library shelves.  Think pornography.

3) Sexual Confusion

In fact, Democrats are so intent on indoctrinating and confusing our youth with the transgender ideology that they are actually saying that men can have babies. Check out what this doctor says before Congress.

Never mind that this so-called doctor doesn’t exude manliness or testosterone. He actually says, “Someone with a uterus may have the capability of becoming pregnant whether they are a woman or a man…” Hogwash! When he says men can get pregnant, he means fake men—women who have transitioned into men by having what Rush Limbaugh used to call an “addadictomy.” These people suffer from body dysmorphia and should be helped through counseling and therapy, not with hormone blockers and transition surgery.

4) Counterfeit Sexes

And speaking of transition surgery, things are even crazier than most of us know. According to an online website called IQ, real men should start urinating sitting down to be more inclusive of and “stand” in solidarity with transgender men. You see, apparently trans men have trouble relieving themselves standing. Who knew? But, this is what happens when mere humans take God’s handiwork and create a weak counterfeit.

Indeed, if it seems disparaging to ask men to urinate sitting down, it’s even more offensive to ask women to do as another IQ article advises. The author encourages women to “smell their poop to be more inclusive to trans women: Some women have a hole where their penis used to be, and that hole often shares a microbiome with the colon–creating a distinct transitioning odor.” Euwww! So, in other words, these trans “women” smell like poo and if you, as a woman, would just smell your own poo then you would understand the plight of these poor pseudo-women. This calamity is what happens when we remove God from society and install ourselves as gods.

5) Transvestite Duplicity

Additionally, some men choose not to have their penises removed. They wear women’s apparel, make up, and hairstyles, but they maintain their male appendage. This type of individual, whom we used to call a transvestite, is simply a man playing dress up and caricaturing female attributes, and many of these transvestites are still attracted to females yet are allowed into women’s bathrooms and locker rooms. We know what kinds of chaos this can cause. Let’s recall the male student in Virginia who dressed as a girl, enabling him to use the girls’ restroom where he raped a female student. The school district hid this fact from parents and the student body, removing the student to another district where he repeated his nefarious crime with another female.

And, although not a crime, in another instance of a boy dressing as a girl to gain entrance into a female locker room, a trans student in Vermont has allegedly “acted inappropriately and made insulting comments” to the girls on his volleyball team. Did the trans student get reprimanded? No! In our current upside down world, the girls on the volleyball team who complained about a biological male using their facility and ogling them have been charged with harassment and bullying and are now banned from using the girls’ locker room. Unbelievable!

Many of these transvestites have decided to play on female sports teams, knowing they will dominate the sport due to their muscle mass, height, strength, bone density, lung capacity, and larger hearts. Unless you’ve been sleeping under a rock, you undoubtedly know about Will Thomas who swam competitively for the men’s team at the University of Pennsylvania, and then later “transitioned” to a female (but did not have his penis removed) and swam on the women’s team. He went from being ranked as #462 in the country as a male to #1 as a female swimmer. But, let’s be fair, it’s not just Will/Lia Thomas infiltrating women’s swimming to gain advantage; it’s happening throughout women’s sports, and in many cases it is becoming dangerous. Consider the high school volleyball player who was seriously injured by a transgender “girl” spiking a volleyball at her.

Speaking as a woman who was in high school when Title IX was passed which opened up a smorgasbord of athletic opportunities for me in college, I feel nothing short of sorrow now because, make no mistake, what we are witnessing is the complete destruction of women’s sports. Everyone with a brain knows why we separate men’s and women’s sports. There are huge differences biologically between the two sexes. That’s how God created us. Satan, being the great counterfeiter, believes he can successfully twist what we’ve known for centuries to be true and “create” a new type of Frankenstein male and female. I don’t know about you, but I’ll take the genuine, God-created version every time. I will not accept a trans woman as “Female Athlete of the Year” nor a trans man as someone who can have a baby. If the current sexual lunacy does not convince you that we have pushed God out of society, I don’t know what will. Thankfully, some are waking up to this catastrophe.

Lawlessness: The Third Sacrament

According to Anton LaVey, founder of the Church of Satan, the eighth statement of The Nine Satanic Statements is “Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification.” This seems fitting for the lawlessness we are currently experiencing in America; the US is in the midst of an era of crime run amok. There are many reasons for this and they all lead back to Democrats.

When you combine soft-on-crime left-wing mayors with attorneys general who refuse to prosecute crimes or set bail for criminals, along with mentally disturbed homeless people and self-serving crooks, you have a recipe for anarchy and chaos. Ponder the following incidents.

Remember the black man who decided to take out an ax and destroy a New York City McDonald’s?

The criminal in this case, Michael Palacios, now claims he is not unhinged and the 18 hours he served in jail was sufficient punishment for his rampage. He further suggested that his ax was safer than a gun, so he should be allowed to carry it and use it for self-defense. It’s interesting to note that the attorney general in New York opted not to ask for bail in this case, undoubtedly because Palacious is a person of color and the left believes there are too many African Americans incarcerated.

In another unbelievable incident of lawlessness, Jose Rafael Solano Landaeta, a child rapist and illegal alien, stabbed and decapitated a young California mother named Karina Castro with a Samurai sword. Castro had a restraining order against Landaeta, but that did not deter her killer.

In yet another unthinkable crime, a woman in Massachusetts bludgeoned her landlord to death with a hammer after the landlord discovered she had been forging checks from his account, stealing over $40,000 from him.

Those are only three of the myriad of daily crimes being perpetrated by lawbreakers all across our nation with a frequency that a few years ago seemed unimaginable. For example, numerous individuals have been pushed onto the tracks of the NYC subway system or have been sucker-punched for no other reason than to satisfy the pleasure of the perpetrator, like the one in the video below.

It’s hard to believe this felon has only been charged with misdemeanors and is already out of jail with no bail, while the victim has a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain. At the time of this attack, the perpetrator was out on parole for child rape.

There are so many more cases like the aforementioned, but these are the consequences of removing God from our society and treating criminals like the victims. The Bible is clear that there should be punishment for crimes. In fact, every civilization punishes those who commit crimes. Ever heard of The 10 Commandments or the Code of Hammurabi? When a culture fails to punish evildoers, it tends to engender more crime.

What is fascinating to note is that while leftists are foisting all these criminals upon us with their “no bail” laws and get-out-of-jail-free cards, the justice system is making criminals out of those who wield no weapons and have no malicious intent. Currently, we have trespassers and “paraders” languishing in prison for daring to walk into the people’s house on January 6th, 2021. (Recall that many were let into the building by capitol police.) Remember also that leftist thugs tore down statues, assaulted law enforcement officers, and torched cities during the summer of 2020 and were encouraged to do so by high ranking Democrats.

Yet, none of these Antifa and BLM hooligans landed in prison for their criminality. In addition, the FBI has arrested numerous Right to Life protesters for peacefully protesting outside abortion clinics but has not made one arrest in the flurry of churches and pregnancy care centers that have been vandalized. A true justice system would deal out justice without regard to sex, race, age, religion, or political party. We used to have that, but in this current age of Satan-inspired, Democrat-led “social justice,” we have no justice at all. God gave us the Bible that we might understand how to structure our lives and our communities fairly. In Deuteronomy, we are warned:

“You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality, and you shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous. Justice, and only justice, you shall follow, that you may live and inherit the land that the Lord your God is giving you.”

Oh, that those in leadership would ascribe to these words.

A Final Word

It’s clear that our country, even our world, needs God more than ever before. We’ve removed Him from our culture, our discourse, and our thinking. From After School Satan Clubs to atheist chaplains to the alarming rate of narcissism among youth, as well as the murder of innocent babies, the grooming of our undefiled children, and the tragedy of our current lawlessness, it’s obvious our country is descending into a hellscape because we’ve forgotten the author of life. Let’s turn back to Him today. John Adams warned us that “Our Constitution was made for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Therefore, let’s repent, ask God to heal our hearts and our land, and let’s make sure to vote for those candidates that represent godly values like life, protecting our children’s innocence, and punishing criminals rather than placating them. During the midterm election this year, vote God.
